Opportunity Pool Funding
The Opportunity Pool is designed to support projects that address emergent needs and leverage novel technologies in maternal and pediatric therapeutics. Examples of supported activities include, but are not limited to, expansion of existing or development of a new MPRINT Core and generation of new computational or experimental tools to enhance precision therapeutics in maternal and pediatric populations.
Applicants are encouraged, but not required, to utilize MPRINT Hub cores. Awards will be for a 12-month period. We anticipate funding a combination of clinical fellow / postdoctoral fellow awards up to $25,000 and faculty awards up to $150,000 for a total award amount in the range of $500,000. Proposals are accepted from clinical or basic science investigators, deemed eligible to serve as a PI for external funding at their institution. Cross-collaboration between departments and institutions is highly encouraged.
Opportunity Pool Awards are managed through the Indiana University-Ohio State University MPRINT Data, Model, Knowledge, and Research Coordination Center (IU-OSU MPRINT DMKRCC)

Support Pool Funding
The Support Pool is designed to fund innovative pilot or feasibility studies, or studies that address emerging needs or gaps in ongoing MPRINT projects. The goals of the study must align with the MPRINT mission, which is to foster and improve precision therapeutics in obstetrics, lactation, and pediatrics.
Approximately $150,000 total costs per year from each of the two sites (University of California San Diego (UCSD) and Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC)) will be dedicated toward funding these projects. The number and size of awards per year will be a joint decision among MPRINT Hub awardees. Proposals may be submitted by investigators from institutions within the MPRINT Hub or by external investigators. Priority will be given to projects that leverage use of an MPRINT scientific core, build collaboration with an MPRINT site, and/or provide support to trainees or junior investigators.
Support Pool Awards are managed by the UCSD and VUMC MPRINT sites.
