Dr. Choi is a Professor of Biostatistics and Biomedical Informatics, and Vice Chair of Diversity and Inclusion in the Department of Biostatistics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She obtained B.S. and M.S. degrees in pharmacy from Seoul National University School of Pharmacy, Seoul, Korea, and received Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2005. She has strong interest in improving drug research with computational and statistical methods. She also has extensive experience in big data analytics, especially in fields of accelerometer data, pharmacy claims, and electronic health records (EHRs) databases.
Dr. Choi's research interests include constructing a system, called EHR2PKPD, for pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacogenomics studies using electronic health records (EHRs), and developing medication dosing building algorithms from EHRs, which would benefit various medication-related studies. Her research interests also include building a PK/PD model-guided clinical decision support system for precision medicine.
